Central New York Soaring
Founded in 1957 and flying out of the beautiful Hamilton Municipal Airport
(Identifier: KVGC), CNY Soaring champions the ideals of a fun, safe, club environment. From 9 to 90, you can learn to fly! You will find all the members are involved in all aspects of the sport, with a focus on instruction, safety and helping grow the sport. We operate out of Hamilton Municipal Airport, utilizing both grass and asphalt runways.
Our members range from brand new students to seasoned fliers. Two of our members are Certified Flight Instructors-Glider (CFI-G) and several of our members hold their private pilot's license and are rated to operate the tow plane.

We own a fleet of high quality gliders and a Cessna Skyhawk tow plane that provide an economic way to soar the clouds. Many of the members own their own sailplanes and base them out of Hamilton.

Our Story
CNY Soaring was founded in 1957, and we have held tight to our ideals of keeping flying fun, affordable and safe. While we are based out of Hamilton, NY, we do travel across the country to different glider events, trying out new airports and meeting other glider pilots! We fly from April to November in NY, but have been known to take trips to Sunny Florida to fly in the winter months. Many people are surprised to know there is a glider club locally; if you would like to know more, give us a call!
